The week of celebrations was kicked off by Musical Village, the Leicester Forest East Community Choir who presented a tremendously exciting programme of music. Here, they are captured in their final rehearsals ahead of the concert.
They soon got into the swing and their fantastic Songs of Joy and Celebration were enthusiastically received by a great audience. The Musical Village Chorale, pictured with musical director Lesia Smaditch, captivated the audience with their high quality and original arrangements of many much loved pieces.
Members of the local Flower Guild produced beautiful flower arrangements and displays at St Andrew’s for visitors to see over our celebration weekend
Service of Celebration
Ministers and church members from both Methodist and Anglican traditions from the past five decades gathered at St Andrew’s to mark and celebrate its to Anniversary.
The service was lead by Bishop Martyn and his sermon gave a powerful message of the reason for celebration for 50 years at St Andrew’s and hope for the future.
After the service we all gathered in the church hall to share lunch together and exchange many fond memories from the past. Overall a great time was had by all and we ent away charged with much excitement and enthusiasm for what the next 50 years holds.
